We were out of beer and we needed some
Lloyd was there, standing by the front door
We gave him twenty bucks and sent him to the beer store
Now we all know Lloyd runs a little slow
And shoulda known better than to let him go
Pretty some folks just went to bed
“Where the hell is Lloyd” I said

Later on somebody called the coppers, they said “ Ya better come
We found your buddy stuck on the Wall Of Gum”

He said he reached for something shiny way, way up there
He forgot about his long ass hippie hair
The cops were standing ‘round sipping on their coffee
Lloyd was screaming “Get this sticky stuff off me”

Had a mind to leave him up there hanging while had a beer
But Lloyd was crying “Please get me off of here”

The fireman and paramedics gathered up in a huddle
The said “Lloyd, you’re causing us a heap of trouble”

Didn’t have to use no hook and ladder or the jaws of life
I cut him down with little Jimmy’s jack knife
