They came from deepest outer space
in search of a gift from the human race
Transmissions from yesteryears
had finally reached their pointy ears
And an image unlike all the rest
with a colorful box strapped to it's chest
It made a sound that made them smile
And they all felt happy for a while
So they set off to find this merry cure
at one hundred eighty six thousand per
Based on the data they had scanned
Milwaukee's where they planned to land

They searched in attics, behind closet doors
The dusty backrooms of music stores
they moved across Wisconsin State
and asked each citizen to donate
And everytime they got a "Yup"
they went ahead and beamed it up.
soon their cargo bay was full
Increasing their gravitational pull
So, with afterburners burning bright
they sped off in the summer night

They Came for Accordions!

Took them all, far and near
and a recipe for making beer

You should have seen their alien faces
when they opened up the cases.
Staring with a deep space look
"Gartook!, " they forgot the "How To " book
So they did their best to play the things
with a whole array of pulleys and strings
Now somewhere in the universe
You can hear these folks rehearse
And though they play them upside down
It's pretty much the same damn sound.
